Greg Maloney Joins Centennial as Firm Gears Up for Accelerated Growth
Rapidly Expanding Retail Real Estate Firm Also Welcomes Karen Raquet as Client Relationship Manager
DALLAS – April 9, 2025 – Centennial, one of the nation’s leading private retail real estate owners and operators (www.centennialrec.com), announced today that coveted and highly respected industry veteran Greg Maloney has joined Centennial to facilitate the organization’s next phase of growth. Building on the stellar reputation and deep client relationships cultivated during his lengthy tenure at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), Maloney joins Centennial as chief strategy officer to lead its strategic business growth activities, and working together with Jane Walker, senior vice president of project management and client services, to build upon Centennial’s growing portfolio of partnership investment opportunities as well as its successful third-party management business.
A regional enclosed mall specialist and valued industry consultant, Maloney previously served as president and CEO of JLL where he oversaw all aspects of the firm’s Americas Retail business providing management, leasing, marketing, development, tenant representation and strategic consulting services to JLL clients. Earlier, while managing the company’s retail operations, Maloney’s focus was on facilitating key acquisitions; over the past 22 years, he has directed more than 15 JLL acquisitions, including Shelter Bay, Starwood Retail, Ivanhoe Cambridge, and Poag Real Estate. Maloney also led JLL’s receivership practice for all asset types; over the past 25 years, Maloney has acted as receiver for more than 175 properties throughout the U.S.
“We are honored that Greg identified Centennial as the right company to support for its continued growth and expansion,” says Paul J. Kurzawa, president of Centennial. “We look forward to working with Greg and, through his industry-wide relationships, to building new connections and partnerships that will create ‘owner-centric’ value lift opportunities for real estate owners and investor clients who are looking for an alternative to traditional institutional third-party service providers.”
“Greg will also play a critical role in working cooperatively with Lincoln Property Company to unlock new growth opportunities,” says Steven Levin, founder and chief executive officer of Centennial. “Lincoln’s investment in Centennial has provided the capital and backing to pursue large-format, retail-centric acquisitions that could benefit from Centennial’s unique vision and mixed-use approach, something we believe Greg will be instrumental in facilitating.”
Lincoln, a global full-service real estate firm, made a strategic investment in the operating business of Centennial in August 2024, providing capital and other resources to accelerate Centennial’s national expansion.
“Centennial has built a phenomenal reputation as a leader in the retail real estate industry and has demonstrated a strong track record built upon a history of successes, particularly in its third-party asset management business,” says Maloney. “I’m excited about where Centennial is headed and the many new ways we can work together to unlock additional opportunities and value for Centennial and its clients, exposing its incredibly well-built strengths and vision to a wider audience.”
Centennial also announced today that Karen Raquet will join Maloney in support of his efforts as the firm’s new client relationship manager. Raquet is a results-driven and versatile real estate executive with decades of experience in asset management and development. Most recently, Raquet served as the executive vice president and director of property management for JLL. An expert in business organizational transformation, Raquet is a proven producer skilled in delivering strategic solutions that consistently drive stakeholder value and contribute to long-term operational success. In her new position, Raquet will expand the well-established foundation of Centennial’s third-party business and onboard new clients, coordinating materials, technologies and uninterrupted service across all new lines of business.
“Greg and I worked amazingly well together at JLL and I have every expectation that, together with the incredible team Centennial has already built, we can take its asset management business to new heights while locating and closing on acquisitions that are a perfect fit with Centennial’s goals for the future,” says Raquet.
