Centennial Awarded Management and Leasing Contract for Greenwood Mall
Real Estate Owner/Operator Grows Presence in Southeastern United States, Expands Third-Party Management Portfolio with New Service Agreement
DALLAS – June 5, 2025 – Centennial, a retail real estate owner and operator with a national portfolio of shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations as well as a full-service property management platform serving third-party owners (www.centennialrec.com), announced today that it has been awarded the management and leasing contract for Greenwood Mall, a popular regional shopping center located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Under the agreement, which took effect Monday, June 2nd, Centennial will provide a full spectrum of management services for the property – including property management, leasing, marketing and accounting – while it is in receivership. Greenwood Mall will remain open and fully operational throughout this management transition, continuing to welcome shoppers and support its retail partners without interruption.
“Centennial is honored to have been selected as the new management company for Greenwood Mall,” says Paul Kurzawa, Centennial’s president. “Because we are a nimble organization with a proven playbook for success, we are increasingly being tapped to take over the management and leasing of properties like Greenwood Mall that are well positioned for growth but have fallen into receivership and need immediate leadership to prepare the asset for sale.”
Comprised of nearly 852,000 square feet of retail, dining and entertainment space, Greenwood Mall has served as a central hub and gathering space for more than four decades in the Bowling Green community. Built on some of the most desirable real estate in western Kentucky, Greenwood Mall is conveniently located along the well-traveled I-65 freeway which connects Louisville, Kentucky, and Nashville, Tennessee, and is the only regional shopping center between the two cities. Today, the center boasts more than 80 tenants, including anchors Dillard’s, JCPenney, Belk and DICK’S Sporting Goods and a host of other iconic national brands like American Eagle, Bath & Body Works, Hibbett Sports and Victoria’s Secret; cultural dining options like Suki Hana Japan and 90 Millas Bar & Grill; fast-food and snack eateries like Subway, Sbarro, Auntie Anne’s and Cinnabon; family-friendly “eatertainment” such as Chuck E. Cheese’s; and entertainment venues like a 12-screen Regal Cinemas movie theater, one of Greenwood Mall’s most popular attractions.
From strategic merchandising to engaging placemaking solutions, community connections and digital platforms that seamlessly merge the physical and digital shopping experience, Centennial has a unique vision for the future of retail real estate that has led to the successful repositioning of retail properties in key markets nationwide. The in-house property management, marketing, leasing and accounting teams Centennial has carefully curated provide a robust services platform that excels in helping retail real estate owners navigate today’s multi-faceted retail market while also planning for future value creation.
Today, Centennial operates 23 million square feet of mixed-use destinations in 17 states.
