Centennial Accelerates Growth Plan, Announces New Executive Hires

Real Estate Investment Firm Taps Industry Veteran Michael Platt for SVP Position, Promotes Jonathan Maher and Hires Ken Bendalin for VP Positions

DALLAS – March 30, 2021 – Centennial, a real estate investment firm with a national portfolio of shopping, dining, entertainment and mixed-use destinations as well as a full-service advisory services platform (https://CentennialREC.com), announced announced today it has made three strategic personnel changes: Michael Platt has joined Centennial as Senior Vice President, Mixed Use Development; Jonathan Maher, formerly the Senior General Manager for Centennial’s MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana, California, has been promoted to Vice President of Property Management; and Ken Bendalin has joined the company as Centennial’s Vice President of Asset Management. Michael Platt, Senior Vice President, Mixed Use Development
Platt brings more than two decades of experience as a developer, architect and designer working in the retail, mixed-use, hospitality and corporate sectors to Centennial. His previous experience includes serving as Vice President of Development and Design for Starwood Retail Partners and Vice President of Design for Westfield. At Centennial, Platt will lead the development initiatives at Dulles Town Center in Sterling, Virginia, and Pacific City in Huntington Beach, California. Additionally, Platt will serve as the mixed-use expert for all Centennial development projects, offering internal consultation on land use, master planning and new business pursuits. Platt currently resides in Chicago, but will soon work from Centennial’s corporate office in Dallas.

Jonathan Maher, Vice President, Property Management
Formerly the Senior General Manager at MainPlace Mall, Maher has been promoted to Vice President of Property Management for Centennial. Through his local and regional leadership efforts, Maher has made a significant impact at Centennial since joining the firm in 2015. In his new role, Maher will supervise the operation of several properties, including MainPlace Mall and Pacific City, both located in Orange County, California; Vancouver Mall in Vancouver, Washington; and a host of other special regional and national projects. Maher will continue to be based at MainPlace Mall.
 

Ken Bendalin, Vice President, Asset Management
Bendalin comes to Centennial with over 20 years of asset management experience, including building the asset management department at the Howard Hughes Corporation and providing strategic asset management at Cliffside Realty Advisors and Sarofim Realty Advisors.  In his new position as Vice President of Asset Management for Centennial, Bendalin will focus on investor reporting, risk management, property taxes and insurance, financial planning and analysis, and providing leadership on key initiatives that require acute coordination across multiple disciplines. Bendalin will work from Centennial’s corporate office in Dallas.
